Three years ago, #Project7 was just a big piece of land with a crumbling wall and a huge vision of what could be in our minds. We knew that anything would be possible with wisdom and guidance from God. We prayed and dreamed and of course, fell in love with the children, who at this time were living in very small and insufficient quarters. The first big projects in making this Children's Village a reality were to build a security wall and to drill a well.
At this point, the wall protects the front and one side of our property, but is not complete. The back and other side of our property have been guarded by a thick and prickly cactus hedge that man and beast would have difficulty to penetrate. It was been satisfactory protection until now, but unfortunately parts of the cactus "fence" are beginning to thin, leaving our land vulnerable to animals and other intruders. It is time to FINISH THE WALL.
Remember how Nehemiah led God's people in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem? They were blessed with safety and strength as they put up the walls and gates of the city in just 52 days. We're basing our fundraising effort on this story, found in Nehemiah 6. We need to raise enough money for the block and other materials as well as the cost of labor [we'll hire local workers].
"Even with all that interference, the wall was soon finished. It was the 25th day of Elul. The work had been accomplished in 52 days. When our enemies heard the work was complete and the surrounding nations saw our wall, their confidence crumbled. Only one possible conclusion could be drawn: it was not just our efforts that had done this thing. God had been working alongside us." Nehemiah 6:15-16 The Voice
